It is possible for primary school age children to benefit from teaching by Aberdeen City Music School staff.

Dyce Academy
Pupils at Aberdeen City Music School have access to the full range of secondary school curriculum subjects at Dyce Academy.

General Policy Statement
ACMS is a national music school for young musicians with well above average musical ability. Following success at audition, pupils are enrolled in ACMS and Dyce Academy.

Auditions
Admissions are decided on the basis of an audition. However, we are happy to hear prospective pupils play at an informal meeting, prior to formal audition.

Curriculum
The curriculum for each pupil at Aberdeen City Music School is determined on an individual basis.

Master Tutors
An essential part of the teaching regime is the use of Master Tutors. We draw on the services of outstanding and well known professional musicians.

Careers - Alumni
Former pupils of Aberdeen City Music School have progressed to major conservatoires such as the Royal College of Music, The Royal Academy of Music and The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Outreach
An important part of our work is to run a vibrant outreach programme, which often involves work outside school hours sending professional musicians out to schools.
